The Normandy Scholar's institute is an opportunity for students and their teachers to have an in depth learning experience of World War Two(specifically, the Normandy Campaign), and the sacrifices individuals made towards the effort. Each student teacher team was tasked with choosing a fallen soldier, sailor, or airman to research and ultimately honor with a eulogy. My teacher and I chose to remember Graham Mahan, a medical corpsman in the U.S. Navy. He is pictured to the right.
We both were incredibly grateful to be given the opportunity to honor this fallen hero. This experience truly was a gift.
